Marketing & Communications Partnership

OIGA required a nimble team to handle community education about the positive impact that tribal gaming has on the state of Oklahoma. The key focus would be media relations issues, professional writing and social media.

The client’s objectives:

  • Establish brand identity
  • Create positive community awareness
  • Communicate authority
  • Strengthen association partnerships
Logo update
The simplified logo is fresh, functional and easier for members to identify.

Reinforcing Strength and Professionalism

The logo looked dated. Our brand positioning exercise revealed that in order to launch a successful media relations effort, a rebrand was needed to help reinforce their strength and professionalism.

To date, tribal gaming has created an economic impact of more than $1.6 billion to the State of Oklahoma since it was established in 1992. We created Impact Reports to help share this information and established standards for the brand that could be applied quickly to any tools needed to support the board and executive director of the association.

Color Palette
In developing signature patterns for OIGA, the team used a palette made up of colors pulled from the tribal seals of each OIGA tribal member. These geometric patterns pay homage to traditional tribal patterns but are not literal.
Report and Executive Summary
In 2015, OIGA commissioned an economic impact report to be released in conjunction with its having reached the milestone of exclusivity fee payments reaching $1 billion. We produced a bright, uniquely-sized executive summary booklet and typeset the full report, made available for download on the OIGA website. When OIGA produced its second economic impact report, a new pattern was created from the existing color palette, and the size was retained, with the goal of creating beautifully-designed, easily-kept resources.
“S Design has helped the leadership of OIGA further its mission by developing and executing comprehensive communications strategies and tactics, supporting the goals of our leadership and refining OIGA’s brand. Our reach has consistently increased through a variety of means, as has our media relations effort. OIGA is positioned, correctly, as the experts for issues related to tribal gaming and the many ways our industry, and the efforts of the Tribal nations, benefit all of the citizens of Oklahoma.”
– Matthew Morgan, OIGA Chairman
Website
OIGA.org was redesigned and streamlined to provide resources for Tribal members and Associate members. It was important for visitors to immediately see the economic impact tribal gaming has on Oklahoma. Navigation is now clear and simple, with the organization’s Annual Conference and Trade Show placed prominently.
Social
We write and post social media on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram, but most often on Facebook, where OIGA’s audience has nearly tripled since 2015. We create graphics, write copy, create events and help manage responses.
